Trusted Traveler Program South Korea and Singapore
US Trusted Traveler Program Extended to South Korea and Singapore
US Customs and Border Protection agency’s Trusted Traveler Program allows “the travel process faster, easier, and more secure for travelers.” Eligible travelers are pre-screened and allowed to bypass immigration and customs at automated kiosks sited at over 20 major US airports. This program has recently been extended to South Korean and Singaporean nationals who travel frequently to the US. This bilateral agreement and program requires collection of biometric information, such as fingerprints, from eligible travelers.
The agreement was recently announced at an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Honolulu and the program is expected to launch in January 2012.
